Campaign: Which radical ideas for new energy sources deserve investigation?

The biggest problem with solar power on earth is that it may start raining or it becomes cloudy and the solar panels barley gain energy. But as we all know the sun always shines in space so why don\'t we develop a solar panel that can withstand space and collect energy from the sun. This should definitely be attached to space stations or attached to some kind of solar space station that has a battery huge enough to store all the power that will be generated.
