Make CO2 emission balancing mandatory
Campaign: Which are the fastest, easiest to implement climate-friendly energy technologies?
There are today several technologies available for CO2 removal from the atmosphere, here is one: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-019-08824-8 and here is another https://www.ft.com/content/59eed49a-13fe-11e9-a581-4ff78404524e. Make it mandatory for the energy industry to remove the same amount of CO2 as the resulting emissions from the products they produce and sell. It is not a long-term solution, but one that will buy us some time.

Thanks Christer -- could there be ways of using the CO2?
Christer Berg
It is actually the carbon that is taken out of the atmosphere. As I understand it, the oxygen atoms are released (as in photosynthesis). The carbon can then be used in many applications. One Swedish entrepreneur has developed a technology to make threads for use in textiles. Another application from taking CO2 directly out of the air is to transform it back to fuel. Please see link in next comment.
