Campaign: How can we eliminate the need for plastic?

My idea is to make plastics that have a shelf life just like vegetables. Some X factor that gets added to plastic during manufacturing; depending on use, plastic will “disintgerate” after a week or 2 weeks or a month depending on what it is being used for. Thus for example, plastic bags might have a shelf life of a week.
